Gravestone at the Jewish Cemetery on Cedar Hill Road

On New Year's eve, five gravestones at the Jewish Cemetery on Cedar Hill road were defaced with swastikas and other hateful messages. You can read more about what happened in an article by Jack Knox in today's Times Colonist.

There will be a vigil at 1pm this Sunday, January the 8th, at the cemetery (Fernwood Road and Cedar Hill Road).

I will be there as the MLA for Saanich South to stand with our Jewish friends and show that people of all faiths and backgrounds are opposed to anti-semitism and bigotry. Please join me if you are able to. Rabbi Harry Brechner will speak to the need for respect and inclusivity. This is a good time to pull together as a community.
